People's Pride Picnic presented by TransAid Nashville

Divine Intervention Zines will have a table at the 2nd Annual People’s Pride!

November 7th, from 11am-4pm.

People’s Pride isn’t here to replace corporate Pride or compete with festivals like Nashville Pride. Our goal is to recover our community voice. To gather, share stories, center marginalized voices, and uplift, nurture, and protect each other.

We want a gathering that prioritizes accessibility, reflects the diversity of our bodies, and exists outside oppressive systems that restrict our rights through heavy law enforcement oversight. By pooling resources and building coalitions, we strengthen our resilience against oligarchs and fascist regimes. We’re here to play, touch grass, and connect, that is People’s Pride.

What to Expect:

  • A low key community picnic.

  • Field games like sock wrestling & wig snatching

  • DIY crafts like button making, coloring.

  • Skill-Share-Trunk-Share (a "trunk or treat" style caravan of local orgs and their chosen offerings, along with some free resources provided by Drkmttr/Trans Aid Nashville)

  • The gathering is free, no sale of any kind will occur during the picnic (so remember to bring your own lunch), all resources, skill shares, and activities will be provided on a volunteer basis by local orgs who have felt excited and called to facilitate.

  • To maintain community safety, the exact location of the picnic will be shared privately to those who RSVP. If you have RSVP'd you will receive an email on November 4th (3 days before the event) with the location details.

  • The picnic location has a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restrooms, and is relatively flat with paved pathways.

What to Bring:

  • A picnic blanket

  • Chairs

  • Snacks, your lunch or join the potluck and bring a dish to share (optional), reusable dish-ware, non alcoholic drinks

  • Board games, crafts, books, things you like to bring to the park

  • Something to contribute to the community alter (we will have a dedicated space to host the community alter honoring elders, ancestors, spiritual forces, and all encompassing queer idols - participation is optional)

  • Cozy clothes for lounging, and remember your sneakers and play clothes if you’d like to participate in the field games!

  • Come as you are, hold what you can, and take what you need - we invite you to create the kind of day in the sun that you need right now!
